This article examines the urgent problem of the development of the agricultural sector in Russia under the influence of international economic sanctions. Analyzed are both positive and negative consequences for the global and domestic market from the embargo imposed by our country on food products from the USA, Canada, Norway, the EU and Australia. Risks and possible threats, as well as promising global food sites, which play an important role in the formation of a competitive Russian agro-industrial complex, have been identified.
