Аннотация

The article discusses the capabilities of modern tools for analysis and design of information systems, in particular, CASE-tools for database design. The Open ModelSphere software tool is presented, which contains tools for building ER diagrams, editors for creating a conceptual, logical and physical description of a data model, support and leading relational DBMS. CASE tools allow you to perform both forward and reverse engineering of the database, i.e. on the basis of the system catalog of the database or DDL-script to build a physical and, further, logical data schema. CASE tools usually maintain synchronization between the schema and the system database directory, i.e. when changing the schema, they can automatically make all the necessary changes to the existing database and vice versa. The presented approaches are used to train bachelors of the Timiryazev Russian State Agricultural University-Moscow Agricultural Academy within the disciplines of designing information systems for the needs of agricultural enterprises.
