The article deals with the properties of the feed oh additives and for the production of premixes and compound feed for pigs and poultry Rodimet®AT88 (Rodimet®AT88). The feed additive Rodimet®AT88 contains a hydroxy analogue of methionine (DL-2-hydroxy-4-methylthiobutanoic acid) - not less than 88%, with a monomer content of not less than 65%, obtained by chemical synthesis, as well as water - not more than 12%. The study described in the article demonstrates that Rodimet® AT88 has characteristics similar to those of other organic acids such as formic acid. According to the results of the study , the pH and pKa values (2.38 and 3.38, respectively) turned out to be close to the values of organic acids.
