THE JEWISH REGION IS THE LEADER IN GMOS

In 2021, the Rosselkhoznadzor inspected more than 87 million tons of grain for the presence of undeclared GMO lines for compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union "On Grain Safety".

In 2021, 5 cases of detection of GM sequences in rapeseed, soy and corn were identified.

So, 1 case was recorded during the export of rapeseed for food purposes to the Kaliningrad region from the Stavropol Territory. Another case took place in a batch of stored corn grain in the Ryazan region. The leader in the facts of the detection of GMOs was the EAO. 3 cases of GMOs were found in batches of soybeans when declared in the Jewish Autonomous Region.

Traces of GMOs were found in planting material imported to the Russian Federation from the Republic of Serbia (corn seeds) in the amount of 4.7 tons, from the Italian Republic (wheat seeds) in the amount of 20 kilograms and in rose seedlings from the Republic of Uzbekistan @agrorisk
