CIGARETTES CREEP FOR TOBACCO

Manufacture of tobacco products. The tobacco production index in March 2021 compared to March 2020 reached 115.0%, in the first quarter of 2021 - 107.0%.

In absolute terms, in the first spring month of 2021, the tobacco industry produced 22.1 billion cigarettes. This is 1.105 million packs of cigarettes, or 7.5 packs for each Russian and registered foreign guest. Commercially manufactured tobacco and its substitutes occupy a much more modest position: 2.5 thousand tons were produced.

However, the dynamics of production growth between cigarettes and tobacco differs by almost 2 times. Tobacco production showed an increase in comparison with March 2020 by 28%, and cigarettes by 14%. Results of the first quarter in a pair of 2021/2020 look optimistic. During the study period, cigarettes gained 6% growth, and tobacco gave a fivefold rise, 22%. People smoke more and more. @agrorisk
