Livestock of farm animals in Russia. At the end of May 2021, the livestock of cattle in farms of all categories of agricultural producers amounted to 18.8 million heads against 18.5 in April 2021.
There were 8.0 million dairy herds in May against 7.9 in April. By May 2020, the herd decreased by another 1.3%, or about 100 thousand cows. By April 2021, it increased by 0.4%, or about 40 thousand cows.
Pig livestock in May - 27 million heads against 26.6 in April. Paired May 2021/2020 the livestock increased by 0.9% or about 400 thousand heads.
The dynamics of the number of sheep and goats in May - 23.3 million heads against 22.9 in April. Paired May 2021/2020 the livestock decreased by 5.1%.
In May, households owned 40.6% of the cattle population, 9.4% of pigs and 45.9% of sheep and goats in all categories of farms. In May 2020, the structure looked like 41.1%, 10.2%, 45.0%, respectively.
In agricultural organizations in pairs May 2021/2020 the number of cattle decreased by 1.8%, cows - by 1.0%, sheep and goats - by 14.9%, the number of pigs increased by 2.0%, poultry - by 0.8%. @agrorisk
