RALLY IN POTASSIUM


 

Production of agricultural chemistry in Russia. The index of production of chemicals and chemical products in the May/April 2022 pair was 101.2%, in the May y/y pair - 94.9%. In January-May y/y, the index fell to 99.8%.

In May, chemical plants produced 2.039 million tons in total against 2.283 million tons of mineral fertilizers a year ago, i.e. reduced output by 10.7%. However, in the May/April 2022 pair, the industry gained 13.9%. In the January-May y/y pair, the industry showed a negative result with an index of 92.9%.

Fertilizers produced in May, thousand tons (y/y):

- nitrogen 999 against 977 thousand or +2.2%

- phosphorus - 393 vs. 354 or +10.9%

- potash – 647 versus 951 or -32.0%

In May/April 2022 pairs, potash plants scaled production by 51.9%, trying to reach last year's levels. (Nevertheless, the backlog in the January-May pair y/y was 21.5%.) Phosphorus and nitrogen plants by April 2022 raised May production by only 2%. In January-May pairs, y/y were issued on an equal footing: 2.3% and 2.7%, respectively.

In accumulative dynamics for all fertilizers, the industry lost ground by 1% (decrease by 7.1% over 5 months against 6.1% over 4 months) @agrorisk
